At 6 am on November 24, 1997, Marlene Aisenberg was shocked to find that
her five-month-old daughter Sabrina was missing from her crib. The case
shocked the community and police knew they needed to find the kidnapper
quickly. However, there was no sign of an intruder in the home, and suspicion
began to fall on Marlene and her husband Steve. Police took several items from
their home for FBI analysis, and during this time they made a public appeal for
the safe return of Sabrina. Police thought the appeal was suspicious, along with
a videotape of the Aisenbergs leaving their home smiling. In order to prove their
innocence, they agreed to take polygraphs, but the results were inconclusive.
Police have not ruled the two out as suspects, but they continue to maintain
their innocence in the disappearance of Sabrina.
